We know the landscape for primary care is constantly shifting.
While recent changes in online access requirements have impacted practices to varying degrees, our focus at Accurx hasn’t changed.
We’ve listened to your feedback and are continuing to make investments to help you manage your patient demand more effectively, and better support communication with your patients and other care settings.
That’s why we are making a series of improvements to your Patient Triage (PT) experience, which we’re excited to share with you.
Coming soon: more control over your inbox
The following improvements are being developed now and will be ready to demo by Accurx Connects on November 20th, with a release aimed for soon after.
These changes are designed to offer more flexibility for your practice to help you control your inbound and improve workflow efficiency.
- Smarter PT configuration: configure your admin and medical opening hours separately. This gives your practice granular control over different types of demand, allowing you to manage clinical and administrative workload independently
- Customisation and flexibility: We're giving users the direct choice to toggle on/off the routine care request form and bringing back the free text question for this form. This will ensure you can use PT in the way that best suits your practice and you get all of the information you need upfront, reducing back and forth with patients.
Improving triage throughout 2026
Our priorities for 2026 will fall into three main areas:
- Reducing overall demand
- More control over your settings
- Prioritisation and management.
Throughout 2026 we want to transform the journey patients go on before you see them in a consultation. By giving you more resources to manage inbound and triage effectively, patients should get the care they need and ensure nothing is missed.
This starts with Accurx Navigator.
By educating patients with signposting at the triage request stage of the process, we’re hoping to support patients to get the right care, first time and reduce unnecessary GP requests in your inbox.
This has begun with our recent launch of Accurx’s Essential Navigator - a free upgrade for PT customers that lets patients know about nationally available services
Secondly, we will be exploring how to give practices more control via PT configuration.
We want to support you with the right level of configuration, so will work with you on what this could look like and how it can be done in a way to have maximum impact.
Finally, when requests do make it into your inbox, we’ll make it easier to prioritise and manage them. By helping you determine what needs attention first, we’ll make it easier to triage by need and ensure your team’s time can be spent on those patients that need it the most.
Help us shape the future of triage
Crucially, these long-term changes are a partnership.
Your experience is vital to designing the future of patient triage. If you’re interested in collaborating and helping us build a system that truly works for you, please reach out - your feedback will directly influence the product we build.
